Quality Inspector II - Lab Technician

Position Overview: The Quality Lab Technician is a key member of the Quality team and will be vital to the Boston Whaler quality departments material testing and measurement analysis process. The Quality Lab Technician will report to the Quality Supervisor and under the direction of Supplier Quality Engineers. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Essential Functions: + Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety and quality requirements. + Provide on the ground support for investigating quality issues, escalating problems when needed and recommendations for improvements. + Manage safety/quality standards of the Quality Lab and its contents. + Manage lab inventory and supplies. + Conduct lab material testing using lab testing equipment. + Use of metrology measurement tools and software under the supervision of Supplier Quality Engineers. Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Required Qualifications: + Two years or relevant experience in Quality Assurance and/or Manufacturing or Engineering. Associate’s degree in relevant field and or work experience in leu of degree. + Direct experience and knowledge of how to solve problems at their root, specifically as is related to quality. + Knowledge of various plant processes in order to identify the causes of problems with product quality as well as potential concerns during product launches. + Knowledge of metrology measurement tools and software including CAD software and understanding. ​Preferred Qualifications: + Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred + Excellent organization and communication skills. + Positive attitude and team player. + Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and development. + Previous experience with metrology measurement tools and lab testing equipment. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high sound levels, welding processes, moving forklifts, elevated loads, and close quarters. The successful candidate will demonstrate a safety mindset to other employees. Vision protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. Hearing protection may be required. + Shop floor working environment. + Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels. + Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months. + Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes + Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to vision protection and steel-toed shoes. Hearing protection may be required. The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 to $31.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
