Quantitative Analytics Manager – Model Validation (Hybrid 3 Days in Office)

Position Overview:

Freddie Mac’s Enterprise Risk Management Division is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Manager to join the Enterprise Model Risk Department. The Enterprise Model Risk Department is responsible for model risk oversight including development, validation, implementation and monitoring models across multiple risk types (credit risk, market risk, counterparty risk, etc.). The objective of the role is to complete model validation activities with the purpose of providing effective challenges and enhancing consistent model review practices.

The team is primarily responsible for validation of high impact credit risk models.

Your Impact:

Perform technical validation of models, with the focus on credit decisioning and collateral valuation models

Report findings to model owners and management and ensure those findings are addressed appropriately and timely

Prepare validation documentation in compliance with applicable policy, standards and procedures

Work collaboratively with model validators and key assessors to ensure timely delivery of model review projects

Adopt and implement industry best practices (both technical and governance related) in terms of managing and mitigating model risks

Develop a solid understanding of Model Risk Regulatory Guidance, Polices and Standards, and Model Governance Processes

Support the remediation of findings issued by internal and external oversight groups

Support the maintenance and update of model validation protocols

Qualifications:

MS in quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, with at least 5 years of post-graduate work experience in quantitative analytics or modeling.

Programming experience with proven in-depth proficiency in Python (required). Other languages are a plus.

Deeply knowledgeable of regression models, machine learning models, stochastic process modeling, Monte-Carlo simulation, optimization and/or other econometric and statistical techniques such as survival, proportional hazards, etc.

Good understanding of modeling techniques related to Fair lending.

Ability to work across teams and with diverse groups of modeling and risk professionals in an effective and efficient manner.

Self‐motivated, with the capability of managing multiple priorities and efficient in proposing solutions.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $140,000 - $210,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
