General Job Description:\n

Works under the direction of a foreman, performs radiographic inspections and assures film quality is acceptable.\n

Functional Requirements:\n\nRead and sign off on JSA prior to starting of shift.\nDevelops an understanding and working knowledge of the company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc.\nRequired to perform assigned work.\nKnowledge of state regulations for boundaries and radiation safety for source containment.\nAlways maintains a clean and safe work environment.\n\n

Qualification Standards:\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.\nPreferably one (1) to five (5) years of experience in specified skill.\nCertified industrial radiographer preferred.\n40-hour radiation safety course preferred.\n200 hours on the job training preferred.\nPre-employment\/post-employment qualification test if applicable.\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.\nTurner Industries Group\/Job site orientation\/Hazard Communication and required tests.\nJob site \"Personal Protective Equipment\" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses - OSHA approved Z87 if applicable, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.). \nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.\n\n

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:\n

Level C - (Trainee) Ability to proficiently perform the following Radiographic exercises under the direct supervisor of an RT Level II employee:\n\nEnsure zero reading on pocket dosimeter.\nCheck the alarming rate meter battery and audible systems.\nSurvey meter (check battery, check calibration, check for radiation response)\nSurvey camera and record meetings.\nSet up pipe for X-Ray with overhead crane with jack stands under all four corners of the trailer.\nSurvey camera after exposure.\nRecord dosimeter readings at the end of each month.\n\n

Level B - Ability to proficiently perform the Radiographic exercises of a Level 1 employee independently - without supervision of an RT Level II employee:\n\nSuccessful completion of the ASNT RT Level 1 internal testing.\nSuccessful completion of 16 welds or 48 film within an 8-hour day (2 welds\/6 film per hour minimum).\n\n

Level A - Ability to proficiently perform the Radiographic exercises of a Level 2 employee independently - without supervision of an RT Level III employee:\n\nSuccessful completion of the ASNT RT Level 2 internal testing.\nSuccessful completion of 24 welds or 72 film within an 8-hour day (3 welds\/9 film per hour minimum).\n\n

Physical Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.\n

Mental Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and\/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.\n

Work Environment Factors:\n\nLocation: pipe fabrication facility\nMobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and\/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas.\nClimatic\/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances.\n\n

Miscellaneous Requirements:\n

There will be times that the individual may be required to perform a task other than their normal operation required by the company or the foreman, owing to the job demand.\n
