Position Overview
The Recovery Coach is responsible for providing quality clinical and counseling services to the individuals who attend PROS. Recovery Coaches assist with admissions, assessments, group and individual therapy while working with the individuals on their caseload to move them forward on the life goals. Recovery Coaches work as part of an interdisciplinary team within PROS and may participate in committees, work groups and other partnerships external to the program
Essential Job Functions
Supervise the implementation of individualized plans/programs, record progress and initiate periodic reviews
Work with a caseload of approximately 12-18 individuals
Provide 1:1 and group therapy
Complete various assessments integral to the development of treatment plans
Work with the people we support and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop service plans that aid the person in achieving their personal life goals
Work in partnership with the people we support to ensure that their rights, health, safety and personal outcomes are being supported at all times
Assist the people we support to overcome barriers and challenges to establish and maintain a network of relationships and valued social roles
Supervise interns in a task and/or clinical role and monitors services provided
Coordinate CQL activities within the program
Develop and initiate curriculums to meet the needs of the individuals within the program
Ensure that all required documentation is completed /processed appropriately and in a timely manner
Provide field based treatment in the community and individual’s home as required
Prevent, recognize and report abuse toward the people we support
Maintain confidentiality
Duties and Responsibilities
Always communicate in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community
Coordinate, support, attend and participate in all required events/ meetings/ reviews/ committees, including ones outside of standard working hours
Assist with screenings, intake and admissions responsibilities
Adhere to the organizations Code of Ethics
Complete all required trainings and stay in compliance
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mental Health/Social Work/ Social Services Related Field (licensure preferred)
Experience with the mental health population preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills
Valid NYS Driver License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for FREE preferred
No convictions for crimes that preclude a person from working with members of a vulnerable population
Physical Demands
Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours)
Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
Employee is required to reach with hands and arms
Employee is required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or stand on a stool as needed
Employee is required to be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
