We are looking for a dedicated leader like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Regional Vice President of Patient Logistics & Medical Transportation is responsible for driving the strategy for the 24/7 operations of the patient logistics center which includes transfer center, centralized patient placement, behavioral health assessment & response center (ARC), and the transportation coordination & dispatch center. This position additionally has direct reporting oversight for all parts of the medical transportation strategy and 24/7 clinical operations for the region. In this role you will establish a regionally focused strategy for movement and placement of patients into and out of HCA facilities from a multitude of access points through processes that enable volume growth and competitive advantage. In collaboration with the Enterprise Patient Logistics & Medical Transportation VP the RVP facilitates clinical quality enhancements and process improvements for the betterment of patient care. This position covers the West Region which includes HCA's Continental, Far West, and Mountain Divisions. What you will do in this role: + Drive all aspects of the patient logistics initiative as the strategic leader developing, implementing, and tracking progress on key growth strategies into HCA through the Patient Logistics Center. Oversight includes transfer center functions, centralized patient placement, behavioral health ARC, transportation coordination center. + Drive all aspects of the medical transportation strategy & operations, providing direct executive leadership oversight for the regional transportation leader, ensuring strong alignment with division leadership in the direction of this strategy as it continues to evolve in footprint and span of services. + Lead and develop direct reports who oversee daily Patient Logistics Center operations and Medical Transportation operations, which serve multiple HCA divisions as consolidated regional locations. Operational span includes oversight of strategy development, clinical processes, staff hiring, development, and training; as well as analytics support to corporate, division and hospital leadership. + Implement and successfully operationalize the HCA standard centralized patient placement model for all HCA hospitals the Patient Logistics Center supports; through alignment with key stakeholders actively participate in division and hospital throughput initiatives to assist in the center’s work for collaboration of patient flow. + Support division and hospital leaders in EMS contracting and assurance to key compliance and regulatory requirements + Lead the implementation and on-going HCA hospital adoption of multiple enterprise wide technology applications that intersect with patient logistics & medical transportation, including but not limited to Teletracking software, HCA Physician Scheduler tool, Image Trend technologies, Flight Vector software, etc. + Work with facility executive teams, medical and nursing leadership, and the Physician and Provider Relations team to promote volume growth and competitive advantage through development of differentiating strategies. + Through knowledge of the market, competitive landscape, and use of patient logistics & medical transport analytics; identify and communicate potential business opportunities to division and hospital leaders for further growth. + Work with division and hospital management, departmental and interdepartmental staff, and physicians in identifying operational opportunities and inefficiencies, assist in the development and evaluation of alternatives and solutions, and drive the establishment of action plans for improvement. This includes the responsibilities and direct oversight for all span of controls areas noted in Patient Logistics and Medical Transport. + Align with corporate and division compliance teams to provide executive support in the area of EMTALA as it pertains to transfer cases and medical transport. Lead EMTALA and other compliance initiatives with the Patient Logistics leader team and staff through training, consistent chart audits, and compliance reporting to hospital, division, and corporate when needed. Ensuring the Patient Logistics Center is a safety net for our facilities with all aspects of EMTALA compliance. + Collaborate with division emergency preparedness and acts as the leader for any needed patient evacuation efforts in the event of emergent circumstances across the division or enterprise. + Work in partnership with Division CFO and Process Improvement leaders on the use of process improvement tools and techniques, analytical techniques, and statistical applications. Serve as the division coordinator/facilitator of transfer/placement/transport center initiatives. Assure that improvement processes are implemented and audited. + Present the Patient Logistics Center and Medical Transportation strategic initiative updates at corporate, division, and key stakeholder meetings; including to key physician groups, hospital leadership teams, and other parties as needed. + Serve as the liaison/facilitator of communication with any vendors providing transfer/transport services and bed management software regarding vision, specific goals and objectives for initiatives and guides the efforts of the vendor team toward these goals. Ensure alignment with Corporate VP and Division CFOs in all aspects of these vendor relationships + Develop and implement new patient logistics functionality and medical transport strategies under the guidance of the Corporate VP of Patient Logistics Centers and Medical Transportation, keeping in line with overall department scope and responsibilities. + Travel up to 50% Qualifications you will need: + Bachelor's degree is required, BSN preferred + Master's degree is preferred + Minimum of 7 years relevant experience is required + Executive leadership experience is needed for this role + Experience in transfer center or clinical call center, as well as healthcare operations strongly preferred **HCA Healthcare (Corporate)** , based in Nashville, Tennessee, supports a variety of corporate roles from business operations to administrative positions.
