Registered Nurse II - Prenatal Diagnosis Center - 8 Hour Days
**Job Description** The Clinical Nurse II in the Prenatal Diagnosis Center performs within the scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge of practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing Job duties are to meet the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, The Joint Commission, and The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements. 1. Provides direct & indirect patient care services such as: NSTs, rooming patients, administering medications, performing phlebotomy, and chaperoning sonographers and physicians. 2. Assists physicians in procedures (CVS, AMNIO), coordinates scheduling during a holiday weekend or add-on NSTs, provides patient education, answers phone calls or inbox questions from patients, SBARs to L&D for patient transfer, and manages outdated supplies. 3. Communicates with nurses, physicians, and staff regarding patient care or scheduling. SBARs to charge nurse when patients need to be transferred to L/D and SBARs when nurses take over care of a patient. Follows the chain of command if there is a situation that needs to be addressed. 4. Utilizes CSLink, OBIX, and AS Software to document on patients’ progress, and PatientTrak to make sure that all patients are being cared for in a timely manner. 5. Takes pride in documenting in real time or as soon as it is possible. 6. Communicates verbally with MDs if something is urgent or emergent. 7. Continues to take courses, certifications and CEUs, attends meetings (nursing, staff, Magnet ambassador, and unit practice council membership), and provides feedback regarding improving the patient experience. **Qualifications** Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements: CA RN License; Certification-Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within 12 months of hire; Ambulatory Nursing certification or equivalent national nursing certification preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) Experience: 1-2 years Labor and Delivery experience. Experience doing non-stress testing in either the inpatient or outpatient setting. Experience in a prenatal diagnosis/high risk obstetrics ambulatory clinic is also helpful, but not required.
