Covenant Physician Partners is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse at Endoscopy Institute of Hawaii located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

About the Opportunity

Under general direction from Center Manager, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The registered nurse is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families.

The idea candidate must be able to multi-task between pre-operative and post-operative patient care.

Please note that the pay range for this position is between $40.00 per hour to $47.00 per hour.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Performs patient preparation, including but not limited to: review of medical history, acquisition of appropriate consents, measuring vital signs, starting IV, administering medications, and setting up appropriate monitors. Assists in relieving patient’s apprehension before and during administration of IV sedation or anesthesia. Verifies that essential equipment is functioning properly each day. Assesses and monitors patients before, after and throughout all phases of care, demonstrating competency with all monitoring equipment. Transports and positions patients as needed. Documents patient care records and other forms accurately following policies and procedures. Transports and positions patients observing policies/procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs. Maintains patient safety, and ensures a clean, orderly environment throughout the Center. Performs the circulating nurse’s role/functions following approved operating/procedure room procedures to meet the requirements of scheduled procedures Performs Conscious Sedation functions per state regulations and if applicable at the center upon completion of training and validation of competencies. Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before start of procedure and positions and adjusts equipment as required during the procedure Assists physicians in procedures. Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders/directions. Adheres to CDC Bodily Fluid precautions and infectious waste disposal according to policy. Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management. Delegates activities appropriate to the abilities of available staff members. Conducts pre and post-procedure telephone interviews. Performs other duties as requested or assigned. Engages in various clerical and recordkeeping duties as needed.

 About the Candidate

Associates Degree in Nursing  Holds current RN license in the state of Hawaii. Three years clinical experience in the peri-operative setting or procedure healthcare including demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in procedural setting. Medical Surgical or acute care required. Endoscopy/GI experience preferred. Current certification in BLS and ACLS Must possess a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ASC’s, and the applicable standards of the AAAHC, and other regulatory bodies for ambulatory surgery centers.   Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
