Covenant Physician Partners is hiring a Full-time Pre-Op Registered Nurse at Bay Area Endoscopy Center located in Castro Valley, CA.

About the Opportunity

Under general direction from Center Manager, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The registered nurse is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families. 

Please note that the pay range for this position is $45 to $50 per hour, and the hours of operation for this role are between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m

Essential duties and responsibilities

Conducts pre-procedure orientation with detailed information for the patients and/or their families, communicating a positive and caring attitude, as well as pre-operative consultations via telephone. Procures relevant medical records, including cardiologist clearances and laboratory results, prior to the scheduled date of service.  Communicates any abnormal patient assessments promptly to the attending surgeon and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Enhances operational efficiency by optimizing scheduling and minimizing downtime between cases. Verifies that essential equipment is functioning properly each day. Assesses and monitors patients before, after and throughout all phases of care, demonstrating competency with all monitoring equipment. Transports and positions patients as needed. Maintains patient safety, and ensures a clean, orderly environment throughout the Center. Addresses individual patient needs, and completes all pre and post-op physician orders. Adheres to CDC Bodily Fluid precautions and infectious waste disposal according to policy. Manages supply inventory, ordering and restocking supplies as needed. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

About the Candidate

Three years clinical experience in the peri-operative setting or procedure healthcare including demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in procedural setting. Must possess a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ASC’s, and the applicable standards of the AAAHC, and other regulatory bodies for ambulatory surgery centers.   Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals. Holds current RN license in the applicable state. Current certification in BLS and, ACLS. Critical Care, E.R., or recovery experiences prefer. Endoscopy experience preferred desirable. What We Offer
