In the process, we will exploit the fast growing and easily modifiable eukaryotic algaChlamydomonas reinhardtiifor the characterization of photosynthetic regulation using reverse genetics, genomics and biochemistry. This position provides the unique opportunity to engage in the scientific and scholarly advancement at an internationally renowned research institution. By taking charge of independent research questions, and by collaborating with and supervising other researchers, the candidate will contribute meaningfully to the laboratory’s and research community’s accomplishment and collaborative culture. The candidate will design and perform research, apply for independent funding, acquire and analyze data, prepare results for publication and contribute to the general laboratory maintenance and organization. In the process, the candidate will work with other academic and technical staff, and train undergraduate and graduate students. Required Degree Doctorate -Plant Biology or related field Minimum Requirements The ideal candidate has previous experience working with Chlamydomonas, specifically genetics and is enthusiastic about working in a collaborative research environment. Desired Qualifications Previous research involving photosynthetic organisms and algal research techniques is desired, as well as a basic understanding of photosynthetic eukaryotes.
