Research Fellow - Research Admin - Full Time

Position Summary: 

Program is designed to provide the research fellow with extensive clinical research experience in a non-profit healthcare organization through a one-year program.  The research fellow will support research related activity for Donald Guthrie Foundation and its affiliates. 

The Research Fellow will operate under Donald Guthrie Foundation and its affiliates’ rules and federal, state, and local regulations, including the Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP) and FDA regulations, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), International Councils for Harmonization Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), and standards of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. ® (AAHRPP).

Work under and in the spirit of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Milestones and Core Competencies to ensure quality healthcare in teaching hospitals and which also represent an integrated clinical, research and educational curriculum to improve patient care, patient satisfaction and institutional excellence. 

Education, License & Cert: 

Medical School Graduate / Medical Student from a United States accredited organization. Certification from Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Biomedical Research Curriculum and Good Clinical Practice – Must complete within two weeks of hire.

Essential Functions: 

Candidate will participate in research meetings and institutional/departmental research and quality improvement initiatives.  Research Fellow should participate in two prospective clinical research studies and be involved with design, implementation, analysis, manuscript and poster presentation. 

Any data, conclusions, research projects, investigator-initiated research or studies the Research Fellow participates in or contributes to shall list Donald Guthrie Foundation as sponsor in any and all publications.

Participate in institutional and program orientation and activities involving Donald Guthrie Foundation or its affiliates, and adhere to established practices, procedures and policies of the Donald Guthrie Foundation and its affiliates.  

Participate in institutional committees and councils, especially those that relate to research and quality improvement activities.  

Participate in the evaluation of the quality of education provided by the Donald Guthrie Foundation 

Other Duties: 

Other duties may be assigned as necessary in the performance of this position. 

The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential, since the individual in this position may have access to  confidential/sensitive materials daily, including but not limited to, patient information, medical records, employee information, and other confidential/sensitive documents and/or information. 

Diplomacy, tact, and professionalism are also of the utmost importance, since the individual in this position deals with personnel on all levels, both inside and outside the Donald Guthrie Foundation and its affiliates.
