Research Support Specialist (Part-time) **Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):** Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). One (1) year of full-time research experience. Experience with basic cellular and molecular biology techniques including but not limited to; RNA and protein isolation and/or protein analysis. Experience working with in vitro cultures of mammalian cell lines and/or organoids. Proficient with data analysis using Microsoft package software, Prism and/or ImageJ. **Preferred Qualifications:** Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in biology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences. Experience in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescent techniques using cells and/or animal tissues. Experience Laboratory maintenance. **Brief Description of Duties:** Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Agnieszka Bialkowska in the Department of Medicine-Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The Research Support Specialist will work independently and as a team member on animal and cell culture models toward understanding the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal cancers, specifically colorectal and pancreatic. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) position, and duration of appointment is two years from 6/15/2025-6/14/2027 (non-extendable). **Duties:** + Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted. + Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI. + Perform literature search, staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI. + Other duties or projects as assigned. **Special Notes:** **The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
