The primary role of the Residential Supervisor is to ensure that all of the needs of the people supported in the program are met while working in partnership with them. These needs include, but are not limited to, ensuring their rights are both promoted and respected, supporting their health and safety and working with them to identify and realize their personal outcomes. In order to accomplish this, the Residential Supervisor leads a team of Direct Support Professionals and in conjunction with clinical providers works alongside the people they support to develop plans to meet the individual’s needs. The Residential Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that these plans are both followed and documented in an appropriate and timely manner


In addition to being responsible for all of the Essential Job Functions of a Direct Support Professional, as needed, Residential Supervisors’ Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission, vision and valuesEnsure that the rights, health, safety and personal outcomes of the people living in the residence are being supported at all timesEnsure that all required documentation is completed appropriately and in a timely mannerCommunicate with the people we support, family members, community representatives and external providers in a professional, respectful mannerWork in partnership with external providers (employers, day services, etc.) to ensure that all supports and services provided are in alignment and designed to meet the needs of the people living in the residenceEnsure that the residence, including the external property, is clean, safe and attractive at all timesEnsure residence and individual finances are balanced and in complianceFulfill on-call responsibilityInterview, hire, develop and retain high quality staffEnsure all team members in the residence are fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of their positions. Provide supervision and guidance to all team members working in the residence on an ongoing basis. Address performance issues through performance improvement or corrective action measuresManage and approve team members’ time worked in the residence while ensuring there are sufficient team members to meet the needs of the people living in the residence at all timesEmbrace FREE’s leadership practices: Model the way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the HeartOther duties as assigned Qualifications 18 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience working with individuals with disabilities and at least 1 year of management experienceValid driver’s license with no more than 8 points (where applicable)No convictions for crimes that preclude a person from working with members of a vulnerable populationAbility to lift at least 50 poundsDaily standing, bending and liftMust be able to stand for eight hours at a time
