Residential Program Manager- Children's Residential Program (Callahan)

Program Managers oversee the day to day operation of the residence in accordance with regulatory requirements, agency policy and quality program standards. 

Salary: $62,400.00/year

Responsibilities:  Responsible along with Program Coordinator for firing, hiring, progressive discipline, performance evaluations, and supervision of staff as well as submission of required payroll data Knowledge of emergency procedures and accurate implementation of procedures in handling crisis as they occur Train new staff to work with individuals supported Create staff schedule, run staff meetings, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings Contribute to and implement Annual Program Plan; contribute to the development of and/or writing of teaching plans Contribute to and implementation of 24-hour coordinated behavior support plans Evaluate monthly progress as related to short term objectives and formulation of new objectives based on level attained for three primary students Accompany students on medical appointments Coordinate efforts in all areas along with Program Coordinator:  Psychology, Nutrition/Fitness, Nursing, Day Program/School and Social Work Complete incident reports as necessary; review for accuracy and submit in a timely manner to Program Coordinator Interface with parents/families and facilitate their involvement in their child’s program plan Advocate for individuals supported and implement new programming ideas, exploring the individual’s interest 24-hour on-call for staffing/emergency problems Performs all job functions of the community instructor as needed   Qualifications:  High School Diploma required, BA/BS Degree preferred One year managerial experience required Two years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals required Valid NYS driver’s license, preferred [NOTE: Positions for non-approved drivers are NOT available in all programs and are based on program needs.]* Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support Essential Physical Demands: Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of the children s i.e. move/push tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs. Must be able to lift/move/carry 20 lbs. Must be able to run after an individual up to 500 feet Must be able to run to a program in need up to 500 feet Must be able to kneel, twist and bend Must be able to respond to fire alarms Must be able to perform all physical SCIP techniques
