Respiratory Therapist- Oswego Hospital

The Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory diagnostic testing, respiratory care, and electrocardiogram testing to patients of all ages, from newborn through geriatrics. Duties include testing for diagnosis, treatments, rehabilitation, patient teaching, in addition to cleaning and maintenance of respiratory equipment.

The Respiratory Therapists will be an integral part of:

Treating patients by using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, chest physiotherapy, and respiratory medications. Consulting with physicians and other healthcare staff to help develop and modify individual patient care plans. Provide complex therapy requiring a great deal of independent judgment, such as caring for patients who are life support in the Intensive Care Unit Teach patients how to use medications and equipment Perform regular checks on patients and equipment Assist in using and updating evidence based therapies and protocols to treat a wide variety of patients.

Current NYS Licensed Respiratory Therapist required. CPR required. One year or more previous hospital experience, or in a healthcare setting preferred. On site orientation is approximately 4 weeks. ACLS and PALS certification required within 1 year of hire.

Pay Range; $38.50/hr

Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
