Risk Management Specialist (Internal Investigator)

Come join a team responsible for the effective prevention, control, and minimization of risk in one of the largest child welfare agencies in NYS. The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for coordinating risk management and compliance initiatives by providing service and support to internal departments and external agencies. The Specialist will be responsible for investigating incidents, assessing risk, identifying policy and procedural improvements, and reporting findings for Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth and its partners.

Job Responsibilities

Contributes and facilitates external requests including but not limited to investigations, audits, and accreditations through coordinating interviews and collecting documentation. Investigate OCFS, JC, and internal incidents as required including reporting results to supervisor/management. Consult with management regarding risk reporting protocols, corrective actions related to incident risk assessment, follow up plans, reducing future risk, and program outcomes data. Conduct incident review and assist with departmental risk assessments related to agency policies, protocols, state/federal regulations, and COA standards. Review risk incidents and report data at monthly review meeting. Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide clear reports and summary analysis over data including graphing and highlighting trends. Assist managers with developing systems for measuring risk and compliance within their programs. Contribute and make recommendations for agency policies, protocols, and procedures related to risk management & compliance. Provide and track Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Compliance training. Participates in core meetings, as necessary. Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree is preferred. High School Degree is required. For related experience, discretion can be made in lieu of degree.

·       Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferably in not-for-profit, child welfare industry, residential treatment facility and/or group home setting.

·       Investigation experience required; interview and report writing experience preferred. 

·       Experience working with at risk youth is preferred. 

 

Salary Range: 

$60,000 - $64,000 annual based on education and experience.
