Registered Nurse (Medical Cardiology) – St. Peter's Hospital

You will work with patients in the medical cardiology unit by preparing and recovering patients under going EP and cardiac catheterization procedures, preparing patients for cardiac surgery, and being involved in arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment. Patients come with suspected MI's and congestive heart failure. As a nurse at St. Peter's you have the advantage of the latest technology of medicine and the ability to compassionately heal.

St. Peter's has developed a comprehensive cardiac program which includes this 40-bed medical cardiology unit, extensive diagnostic and intervention cardiology facilities, a 38 bed CCU, a cardiac surgery program, a Level 3 cardiac Emergency Department, and a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Nurses working in medical cardiology have the support of regional critical care courses, on-site ACLS classes, and comprehensive orientation developed by clinical nurse specialists in cardiac/critical care nursing. What you will do:

Deliver care, including assessing needs, planning and meetings the needs of patients

Responsibilities:

The RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient where assignedPlanning the nursing care needed: including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs. Once planned, the RN is responsible for seeing that the plan of care is carried out through performance and or leadership of supervised personnel and that the plan of care is evaluatedThe RN is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care deliveredThe RN modifies and delivers care that is specific to the age, growth and development of patients according to the unit scope of servicesWhen serving in the charge role, the RN is responsible for clinical and leadership functions, for assessing the needs of each patient and planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs

What you will need:

Current NYS RN licenseASN required; BSN preferredRegistered Nurses must possess the ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient careThe RN must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written1 year of RN experience is preferred

Pay Range: $36.50 - $49.95

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
