General Summary

The Weekday Triage RN shall function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Group. The Weekday Triage RN will promote continuity of care to patients and families during scheduled on call hours, and conforms to the professional standards of community nursing practice, and the approved plan of care. The Weekday Triage RN is committed to the philosophy, mission, and goals of New Life Hospice. The Triage Nurse is required to work holidays. The full-time Triage Nurse is entitled to paid time off for holidays not worked.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Graduate of an approved school of nursing, current registration in the State of Ohio.

2. Minimum of two (2) years experience in medical-surgical, oncological, home health or hospice nursing.

3. Maintains annual CPR certification.

3. Good interpersonal skills are essential.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

5. Strong organizational and leadership skills.

6. Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people of varying ages, education, social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

7. Flexibility to adapt and respond to a rapidly changing environment.

Working Conditions

Normal patient care environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature, and the like.

Very frequent exposure to moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain distasteful patient care activities.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail fifty percent or more of work time.

Ability to stand, bend and walk more than eight percent of work time.

Reporting Relationships

Directly accountable to the Clinical Manager.

Shift/Schedule

Part Time - Scheduled for 20 Weekly Hours

Shift Time - 12p-12:30a
