Sales Engineer II

Under the direction of the Sales Engineering Manager, this position will be instrumental in cultivating business relationships, providing technical solutions, and being the cornerstone of engineering competence in the industrial refrigeration industry. **AS A SALES ENGINEER II, YOU WILL:** + Connect with customers (phone, email, onsite visitation) and address their needs directly or by referring them to another internal resource. + Build and maintain positive relationships with key customer accounts in the assigned sales region. + Expand knowledge in all technical aspects of Vilter products and their function in a refrigeration system. + Mentor Sales Engineers. + Create proposals for the Outside Sales Team, contractors, and other customers. + Assess each application with sound design practices to satisfy the customer’s requirements with the best product solutions. + Design, estimate cost and prepare proposals for loose equipment and customer specified refrigeration systems. + Prepare product proposals at market competitive prices while meeting the company profitability and quality standards. + Identify “buyout” items (i.e., purchased from 3rd parties) needed to meet customer specifications and functional requirements. + Prepare order documentation while checking the costing and technical details for accuracy. + Act as technical resource to customers and the outside sales team by addressing questions and offering appropriate solutions. + Maintain technical competency by knowing the latest industry trends through educational courses, trade organizations and publications. + Participate in the factory training and trade shows. + Meet team sales goals and metrics to support company objectives and strategy. + Proficient in processing of orders, including a check of pricing, ratings and selection and sizing of components. + Match or re-engineer Vilter systems to new sets of conditions or new refrigerants and create BOM for replacement components and provide change over instructions. + Participate in sales trainings, forecasting and use of CRM tools. + Leverage technology and social media to establish and strengthen relationships with customers. + Develop general refrigeration equipment and system troubleshooting skills. **WHO YOU ARE:** You anticipate customer needs and provide services that excite customers. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers. **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus three (3+) years of Sales Engineering or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, product and customer specifications. + Ability to apply concepts like probability, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. + Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and sales proposals. + Ability to communicate at both technical and commercial levels. + Ability to lead and deliver multiple projects at one time while ensuring focus and high-quality work. + Experience with sales enablement tools and customer relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and offer solutions to meet customer requirements. + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. + Ability to learn and be proficient in the use of company network tools and resources. + Ability to travel up to 15% of the time. + Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position. **PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering + 2 to 5 years of increasingly responsible refrigeration experience. + Ability to understand, analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and refrigeration systems + Demonstrate ability to communicate at both technical and commercial level to resolve customer issues and grow sales **Why Work in the Greater Milwaukee Area** Cudahy is a quaint community located in Milwaukee County, where clean neighborhoods mingle with acres of parkland, major transportation access, and big-city attractions all within an arm's reach, with a small-town feel.
