Responsibilities

Performs financial and accounting tasks for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, regulatory reports and external audits. The Senior Accountant will lead the preparation of month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, monthly financial statements, board packets and accompanying schedules, worksheets, variance analysis and narratives. Additionally, they will prepare schedules related to the quarterly and annual filings to regulatory agencies including but not limited to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), the New York State Department of health (DOH), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Research and prepare technical accounting solutions for new and existing business issues, in addition to the preparation analyses and compiles supporting documentation for financial statements and completion of audits, as well as assisting on special projects for the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications B.S. in Accounting or Finance.3-5 years progressively responsible experience in the areas of general ledger or accounting.Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word & Excel) Great Plains General Ledger and Accounts Payable ModulesPrior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
