HDR is hiring a Senior Bridge Engineer for our Structures Group to be based out of our Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, Miami or Fort Lauderdale office.

Primary Responsibilities

Apply structural engineering and detailing techniquesServe in a lead technical role (EOR) on bridge design projectsPerform complex structural planning, analysis, design, and construction support for all structural aspects of transportation projects.Serve as a technical specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects, and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasksWork on projects that typically include bridge (curved straight steel plate/box girder and prestressed concrete), box culvert, and retaining wall design for highway projectsPerform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

BS in Civil or Structural EngineeringPE license andability toachieve reciprocity within approximately 6 monthsA minimum of 10 years of bridge design experience, including steel bridge design experienceProven hands-on experience in all aspects and phases (from preliminary planning through construction) of bridge design projects.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software and MicroStation,Proficiency using structural analysis programs and bridge design softwareExperience managing junior staffMust be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projectsExcellent communication skills and working in a team environmentAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustFlexibility to perform other related duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Structural EngineeringA minimum of 15 years of bridge design experience is preferredExperience with FDOT is strongly preferredFamiliarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, Mathcad, Larsa, and CSiBridgeExperience with Design/Build projects is a plus
