The Sales Performance Management (SPM) department of Moody’s Analytics (MA) is responsible for controlling and operating the variable compensation program for the MA global Sales team. This includes assigning credit for transactions to sales professionals, calculating commission payments, and reporting results. This is achieved by using and maintaining an Incentive Compensation Management (SPM) system in conjunction with Salesforce.com CRM system, and by partnering closely with Sales reps and managers.


Job Description:

The ideal candidate would ideally be from a technical background with an understanding of the necessary tools and technologies. As a member of the SPM Business Architecture team, the Analyst is mainly responsible for:

Maintenance, enhancement and upgrade (where / when possible) of Business Processes to ensure updates and judgment calls are well documented, traceable and can be easily auditedManaging and maintaining a current and historical database of key territory metricsUnderstanding and maintenance of territory definition accuracy and completeness so it is ready to be executed. Organize the information in a way that is ready to operationalize. Automating rules writing; manage combo ID and role groups hierarchies Analyze large data sets to identify effective ways of boosting organizational efficiency. Using data analytics, you will derive logical conclusions to implement strategies that can improve performance and reliable reportingCollaborate with the internal team and stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of critical business requirementsRunning and managing a range of excel/Alteryx based tools which are used to maintain accurate and up to date sales territory informationConducting tests, surveys, and workshops to ensure positive outcomesFinding new and innovative ways of capturing sales and crediting performance data and come up with out-of-the-box solutions to problems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related fieldExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholdersProblem-solving and ability to think out of the box/be creativeAce communicator who effortlessly translates business needs into tech lingo and vice versa. Ability to turn complex concepts into simple languageExcellent attention to detailA knack for problem-solving and analytical thinking. Must possess strong initiative and a get-it-done attitude10+ years of proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or in a similar data-driven role. System/business analysis experience requiredAgile enthusiast with project management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFluency in English is essential. Fluency in other languages is beneficialFamiliarity with programming languages and querying databasesThrive in multi-cultural environment and can manage working with stakeholders from multiple time zones.

Technical:

Several years of relevant experience in business management or information systemsPrior experience (full-time, internship or apprenticeship) as Business/Sales Analyst or similarExcellent Excel skills, ideally with SQL, PowerBI and / or Alteryx knowledgeExcellent research and analytic skills.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $92,700.00 - $134,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
