The Database Architect and Administrator is a senior, hands-on lead and a technical point of contact for customers and associated members of the engineering team.  The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting complex storage, compute, and backup solutions.  The person in this role must have experience

Database administration experience across multiple DB technologies, including VMWare Tanzu Greenplum, Postgres, Oracle, and MS SQLSystem administration experience across multiple technologies (MS, VMWare, Dell, Ansible, RedHat/Linux)

Primary Position Tasks

Support engineering team in planning work activitiesPrioritize work schedules to meet or exceed project timelines and objectivesConduct ‘hands-on’ engineering activities across multiple database technologies and multiple system administration technologiesProvide and/or support the development of technical documentation related to support, training, and transitioningDevelop and maintain documentation of system policies, procedures, processes, and configurationsDemonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills, while working effectively with customers and Red River team members.

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience desired10-15 Years of Experience supporting enterprise level IT operations5+ Years of system administration, including analysis, installation, configuration, documentation, and maintenance5+ Years database administration, including analysis, architecture, backup/restore, documentation and maintenanceStrong understanding of security and appropriate and timely remediationMust be a self-starter and possess the ability to operate independently

Ideal Candidates possesses:

Experience with VMWare Tanzu Greenplum in a large-scale enterpriseCurrent/active MBI and laptop/PC with the Internal Revenue Service.Familiar with IRS lifecycle, programs (e.g., RRP)Experience in design, build, configure, test, deployment and maintenance of Greenplum version 6 on hundreds of physical Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) accessible over IP4 and IPv6 networks.Installed and applied Greenplum command line and UI based management tooling, including Greenplum command line utilities and Greenplum Command Center (GPCC).Used DBeaver, pgAdmin or other Greenplum and PostgreSQL client utilities.Supported full lifecycle and some level of consulting plus Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
