Job description and responsibilities

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for the development of critical applications, while working with a team of developers. This role will design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing applications. Additionally, this role will build these applications with a focus on delivering cloud-based solutions. The individual will use groundbreaking technologies and enterprise grade integration software daily and will be relied upon to help take the team to the next level from a technological standpoint.

Manages and participates in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design using Agile methodologiesHands-on development, and support of software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutionsServe as technical guide on development projectsWrite technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirementsSupport, maintain and document software functionalityIdentify and evaluate new technologies for implementationAnalyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as neededManagers and participates in software design meetings and analyze user needs to resolve technical requirementsCollaborate lead tech teams consisting of employees vendor company contractors in planning and execution, serving as a technology leaderCollaborate with end user to prototype, refine, test and debug programs to meet needsLeads the design, development, and planning for solutions and technology standards to solve complex business problemsWorks with business, support, or development teams recommending system improvementsConsults across multiple United Information Technology projects and technology areas to perform fixing, problem management, root-cause analysis, and solution implementationServes as a resource for technology/project development review and technical assessmentsProvide consultation and technical leadership in project life cycle planningEnsures consistency and coherence to the enterprise standards and guiding principles throughout the application lifecycle

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.5 years of demonstrated ability in design, development, documenting, testing and debugging of new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use in an agile environment5 years of experience in .Net, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio, ADO, ORM Framework(s), ContainerizationRequires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance and other related fields/processesSolid understanding of software development standard processes such as source code control using Git, CI/CD, Unit/Integration testing, code reviews2 years’ experience implementing AWS technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Elasticache, RDS, Glue Job, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, ECS)Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft NET Core, SQL, NoSQL and Design Patterns3 years of experience supporting and maintaining vendor managed applications.Outstanding at triage or analysis of situations for production supportExcellent knowledge of Object-Oriented systems design and Application DevelopmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.PreferredAirlines industry experience is a plus.
