Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Digital Sculptor to join our Innovation and Design team at our WHQ in Lisle, IL. This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home a week Monday – Friday.


The Senior Digital Sculptor is responsible for creating Class-A surfaces for the exterior/interior of an automotive vehicle using Alias software. This role participates in creating surface data for mock builds and production releases using Alias or Unigraphics software. The Senior Digital Sculptor will work collaboratively with Design and Body Engineering teams. This role reports to the Chief Designer.

Responsibilities Work closely with automotive design staff to develop 3D surface models for supporting design theme reviewsInterpret 2-D sketches and scan data to create high quality Class-A CAD surfaces, incorporating package and feasibility information from engineersUse Autodesk Alias and/or Unigraphics software to build and release Class-A production intent surfaces for toolingDevelop and release Class-A surface CAD models to specified tolerance and model quality settings using AliasUtilize knowledge of design process and standards Minimum Requirements Associate’s degreeAt least 1 year of industrial design experience

At least 2 years of industrial design experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Proficient in the use of Autodesk, Alias, AutoStudio software or similar for building Class-A automotive surfacesExperience in creating concept and Class-A advanced digital surfacesKnowledgeable in the use 3D visualization software, such as VRED, Unreal, or MayaAble to work in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlinesSub-D modeling skills are a plusStrong surface modeling skills and the ability to handle multiple assignmentsHighly creative, motivated and team-oriented

Strongly preferred:
