Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Senior Director, Income Tax. The Senior Director will manage the organization’s Global Tax Provision and oversee the North America provision, compliance, and audit activities. This role is responsible for leading the daily tax operations of the North America tax function, including managing the tax personnel, establishing tax policies, implementing processes and procedures, and ensuring all tax documentation and returns are prepared and timely filed. The Senior Director will be responsible for technical research, implementation of tax law changes, and communicating tax matters to the executive leadership and internal stakeholders, as well as external partners.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Global quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial disclosuresWorldwide U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) income tax reporting for all foreign entitiesResponsible for effective internal control environment to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulationsPreparation of global cash tax forecast and analysisManagement of the tax team preparing the U.S. tax provision and the U.S. domestic and international tax compliance for corporate and partnership income tax returns and US foreign disclosure returns prepared by the external tax service providersMentor and develop tax staff and identify ways to improve existing processes that enhance the team’s experience, knowledge, and efficienciesOversee the North America federal, state, and foreign income tax auditsManagement of tax-related expenses and coordination of the US tax operations with the international tax teamPerform technical research and consult with management and the external auditors to ensure that proper accounting treatment is applied and documented for all transactionsWork on projects to minimize tax burden and reduce the Company's effective tax rate and cash taxesAdoption of new tax software and implement processing changes as requiredSupport Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions and integration activities and special projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldMust possess one or more of the following:Certified Public AccountantMaster’s degree in Business TaxationJuris DoctorMinimum of ten (10) years of work experience with Big 4 (or equivalent) and/or large corporate tax department of a multi-national companyStrong experience preparing and reviewing U.S. and foreign income tax compliance and provisionsWell-rounded tax background with progressive tax experience, including management level responsibilitiesExpert knowledge of ASC 740 (Income Tax Accounting)C Corp and Partnership TaxationIn-depth and up-to-date knowledge of corporate federal and state income tax law and corporate indirect taxesProficient in computer skills and applications, including Word, Excel, and OneSourceAble to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced, high growth environmentOutstanding leadership and people management skills and a proven track record of managing and motivating, successful accounting teams in a growing environment; strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with business leaders across the organizationExcellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax personnel; able to effectively communicate with regulatory agencies, tax reviewers, state, local, independent auditors, attorneys, support peers and all levels of corporate managementDemonstrate the company’s core values and complies with all Company policies and proceduresDemonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions and expectationsSelf-starter with the ability and willingness to exercise independent judgment and take appropriate actionStrong time management skills; able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities/expectations in accordance with strict deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Pay: $190,000 - 210,000 base, plus bonusKnowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and statutory reporting requirementsExemplary tax and accounting research skillsExperience with tax research software
