Senior Electrical Engineer Liquid Robotics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in the development of autonomous ocean robots and the associated hardware and accessories. As part of our small but highly-motivated team, you will participate in electrical engineering design activities and work with cross functional teams to deliver world-changing products. This position will be responsible for executing electrical Hardware designs, firmware development, and system designs for various subsystems incorporated into an autonomous ocean-going craft.  Designs include navigation subsystems, motor controllers, MEMS sensors, satellite/LOS communications, power systems (including solar power generation), embedded computers, etc.  This position is based in Herndon, Virginia and reports to the Hardware Engineering Manager.Essential ResponsibilitiesHelp define the overall electrical architecture for a next generation Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV)Define, design, document, test, and production release PCBA-level solutions.  This includes:Schematic EntryComponent selectionComponent Library ManagementPCB LayoutDocumentation releaseLinking Native ECAD and MCAD Design ComponentsHands on testing and integration – in the lab and in the field opportunitiesWork with Software and Firmware engineers to define requirements and interfaces.Perform design and architecture trade studiesWork with Manufacturing Engineering and Contract Manufacturer(s) to successfully release designs into productionPrepare and release production documentation  Work with other team members to learn about the operation of the overall productKey Attributes:Ability to think analyticallyStrong technical skills and the ability to learn new information quicklyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to lead and influence othersMinimum Qualifications:BSEE or equivalent.
