Kimley-Horn is looking for a Senior Human Resources (HR) Partner to join our Warrenville, IL office as a member of our Regional HR team! Due to the importance of building and maintaining strong employee relationships, this is an in-office opportunity.

Responsibilities

Support to Practice

Propose solutions and engage partners in the areas of retention efforts, general employee relations support, performance management, terminations, teambuilding, complaint/conflict resolution, and career development Build and maintain relationships with practice staff, including office leaders and other senior leaders.Assist practice teams throughout the region to ensure high morale and the development of healthy teams.May lead the integration efforts for senior Practice Builder hires and/or Finishing Well (retirement) meetings for shareholder and non-shareholder retirementsConduct new hire orientations and lead the integration planning for new hires at all levels.Lead the coordination of regional training plans and facilitate these trainings.May facilitate at firmwide training programs.Lead HR subcommittees that have a regional and/or firmwide impact.Serve as a benefits point-of-contact by responding to questions and educating employees on company benefit programsManage leaves of absence, including FMLA and workers’ compensation 

Support to HR Team

Oversee day-to-day operations, workload planning, and team leadership of the regional HR team.Directly supervise and mentor some regional HR Partners, HR Coordinators, and/or HR Assistants.Train other HR team members on technical aspects of the role, including tasks like the leave of absence process, exit interview process, etc.Lead recruiting and integration of new HR team members, primarily HRAs, HRCs, and HRPs.Provide support to members of the HR team on complex ER issues.Manage the selection process of several firmwide training programs utilizing other HR team members to execute these processes.Partner with HR Manager to lead annual processes like salary, class change, and annual bonus reviews.Ensure the quality of the HR team deliverables (e.g., exit interviews, HRIS data) are of the highest standards.Lead team staff meetings: partner with HR Manager and/or fills in, as needed, in various meetings like regional team, office leader calls, etc. Qualifications 9 or more years of directly related experience including employee relations experienceBachelors (or Master's degree) in Human Resources or related field Day travel is required to support the needs of the region, approximately 20%; overnight travel required occasionally Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment law Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building Excellent organization and follow-through skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision Ability and desire to work collaboratively with team members within the region, as well as across the firm, to meet goalsAbility to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent internal and external client servicePHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP strongly preferred Why Kimley-Horn?
