Senior Manager, Apparel Designer, Handbags - Walmart Fashion
**Position Summary...** **What you'll do...** Onsite: New York, New York As a Senior Handbag Designer at Walmart, you will be at the forefront of creating private brand handbag/slg and belt assortments known for their strong design aesthetic, functional style, quality and customer-centric innovation. Under the mentorship and partnership of a Design Director, you will lead and develop the product line across multiple brands from concept to production. Your role involves concepting, curating trend relevant assortments, defining category specific design language, driving cohesive co-creation methods, standardizing materials, supporting sustainability goals and enhancing cross-functional collaboration. _Responsibilities include but are not limited to:_ + Be a category expert with extensive experience in handbag and slg development within a successful commercial space. + Showcase a strong understanding of the handbag and accessories market, including trend research and the mass market application to drive sales and build fashion credibility. + Exhibit organization and clear communication to thrive in a high-paced work environment with an advanced multi-track calendar. + Drive success within a multifaceted organization, ensuring your partners are connected and up to date across Product Development, Merchandising, Planning and Supplier. + Collaborate with Merchants and Product Development partners to harmonize commerciality with innovation and lineplan adherence. Understand the importance of running a high-volume business, closely monitoring sell-through, and reacting to market shifts and consumer trends. + Create dynamic visual concepts with clear storytelling. Drive trend relevant category growth and incentivize merchant buy-in. + Design and execute industry-leading, highly functional styles that reflect Walmart’s design ethos and meet our customers’ needs. + Demonstrate a sharp understanding of construction to communicate effectively with PD, suppliers, factories, and 3D teams. + Support the co-create process through collaborative discussions and product reviews, considering aesthetics, function, and cost/IMU of garments. + Drive and/or support sustainability efforts in 3D design, material innovation and sample ratio management. + Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; specifically, Illustrator. Capabilities in collaborative tools like Miro and/or 3D are welcomed.
