SENIOR MANAGER, POS DATA SYSTEMS

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and optimization of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems across Out of the Box (OOTB) Brands’ restaurant locations, ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and performance of POS data to drive seamless business operations, analytics, and informed decision-making; and for playing a critical role in the execution of the brand’s menu strategy, new restaurant growth, and enabling rapid implementation of menu tests to drive innovation and business success.


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partners with operations, marketing, digital, and catering teams to enhance POS capabilities, drive automation, and support business objectives through effective data management. Collaborates cross-functionally with IT, operations, finance, marketing, and external vendor partners to drive efficiency, innovation, and reliability of POS data management.


Product & Promotion Implementation – Leads the execution of new products, promotions, and pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with POS system capabilities across company and franchise locations.


Vendor & Technology Management – Oversees vendor partnerships, ensuring high performance, cost efficiency, and timely execution of POS-related initiatives, ongoing system changes, and software

enhancements to meet business demands.


System Performance & Support – Leads troubleshooting efforts, system updates, and technical support initiatives while ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).


New Restaurant Onboarding – Manages seamless POS data configuration and integration for new restaurant openings.


Menu Innovation – Executes rapid menu tests in collaboration with operations and marketing to drive product innovation.


Quality Assurance – Establishes and enforces rigorous data testing before deployment to maintain system reliability quality standards. Implements automated data validation to ensure scalable data accuracy and system stability.


POS Data & Documentation Management – Oversees the processing and documentation of POS data, including menu layouts, pricing, ingredients, recipes, and system procedures.


Technical Support & Development – Provides guidance to internal and external software developers, facilitates system testing, and recommends improvements to enhance functionality.


Process Optimization – Governs POS request intake and execution timelines while identifying opportunities for process and system enhancements based on industry trends.


Team Leadership – Provides mentorship and strategic direction to a team of data systems administrators.


Strategic & Operational Support – Performs additional duties as assigned to drive business and operational success.


Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education – Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Experience – 7+ years experience in POS data management, including deep working knowledge of scalable POS systems and 2-3 years supervisory experience. Past experience in restaurant menu development and management required. Experience working in a multi-unit restaurant environment required.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Expertise in cloud-based POS solutions and the tools associated with building and maintaining them.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Ability to understand and implement data management from conception to implementation from POS to back office through internal systems supporting data analytics.

Experience working effectively and successfully cross-functionally to lead and influence internal teams to implement vision and timelines. Specific expertise and experience with menu, recipe and pricing implementations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements: Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a personal computer. Requires extended periods of time working on a computer terminal. Requires the availability and willingness to provide system support and troubleshooting as needed for nights and/or weekends as business needs require.

The range for this position is $128,900 - $180,500 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
