As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:The Senior Manager - Employee Assistance Program is responsible for leadership and management of United’s Employee Assistance Program. United’s EAP team works to improve, sustain, and preserve the efficiency and health functioning of the workplace through a comprehensive wellness approach. This role will support overall strategy and execution of the HIMS (Human Intervention Motivation Study) Pilot Monitoring program, Employee Mental Health Support & Promotion, SAP Management and people leadership of United’s EAP team. This individual will be a strong communicative leader, ensuring collaboration and engagement across their team and supported departments within the operation. This position is hybrid (2-3 days in office each week), based at our Chicago Corporate Support Center (Willis) and will travel to support team development and operational oversight throughout the country.
HIMS - Oversee the comprehensive program management of the HIMS (Human Intervention Motivation Study) Pilot Monitoring programProviding clinical supervision and case consultation to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Regional Managers and collaborating closely with management, Human Resources (HR), Labor Relations (LR), and Union representatives to ensure the ongoing monitoring and success of the programSAP - Oversee the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) program, offering clinical oversight and case consultation for SAP services, including Mandated or Last-Chance Agreements and Fitness for Duty Evaluations in behavioral healthCollaborate with management, HR, Labor Relations, and Union representatives for continuous monitoring and program efficacyEmployee Mental Health Support & Promotion – Apply strategic and communication expertise to guarantee that the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) team delivers comprehensive mental health support, including consultations, critical incident response, and wellness promotionEmploy these skills to cultivate continuous improvement and collaborate with business partners to ensure robust employee support systemsPeople Leadership - Provide dynamic team leadership, including the direct supervision, mentoring, and development of staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and alignment QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree or related experience in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field3+ years of experience with team leadership7+ years of experience with demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiativesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate cross functionally with United business partnersTraining/presentation skillsAbility to handle 24/7 on-call crisis intervention responsibilityCritical thinking and process improvement skillsLeadership, collaboration and ability to influenceAbility to travel up to 15%Strong Microsoft Office skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degree or related experience in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related fieldCertified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)Licensure in mental health (e.g., LCSW, LPC). The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $169,950.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
