Senior Network Engineer
Job Description:
Senior Network Engineer positions offered by CCI Corporate Services LLC (Atlanta, Georgia). Build and test technical designs that can be delivered to internal customers utilizing deep and broad knowledge of Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing platform capabilities, technical standards, and industry trends and practices. Create test plans, execute lab testing, develop low-level designs, lead field trials, and support first office application (FOA) and transition to operations teams. Develop scripts or playbooks for automation of functional standards and requirements, including testing, configuration changes, metrics collection, and API referencing. Conduct equipment evaluations, equipment selection, pilot testing and network design to ensure reliability and scaled expansion of the network. Support deployments of new services, systems, applications and architectures with configuration, integration, evaluation, testing, documentation, and training. Provide detailed engineering support and consultation to other departments. Define and compile Low Level Designs (LLD), as well as standard methods of procedures (MOP) and documentation to support Operations in the configuration of network equipment. Collaborate with vendors for device lifecycle management activities to include hardware and software roadmaps and application of configuration best practices. Identify opportunities for improvement to existing designs & practices on an ongoing basis, drawing on new platform capabilities, industry standards, and market demands. Identify the business impact and value of these improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the position offered or 4 years of experience designing and implementing complex IP routing scenarios, including Spanning Tree, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP and BGP. Also requires 4 years of experience: performing IP network design and management; performing Cisco or Juniper implementations; developing scripts for playbook automation, orchestration, or data collection; working with modern firewall, router, and switch architecture; working with network design including control plane and forwarding plane separation, switch fabric design, egress queuing, IP lookup algorithms, traffic engineering, protection mechanisms, and capacity planning; and utilizing RFC1918 and Carrier Grade NAT (CGN). In lieu of a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated, the employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 2 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and experience or graduate level coursework as stated. Position reports to office in Atlanta, GA. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
Compensation includes a base salary of $117,800 - $150,100. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
