Senior Network Engineer - Public Trust

Wanted: An experienced Senior Network Engineer with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. Design network and computer security measures. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Preference given to candidates with expertise in escalation support and maintenance of complex network connectivity issues, device configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in mission-critical systems.

A week in the life of a Senior Network Engineer:

Provide Tier 3 service support and administration in a metric-driven environment.  Support Ethernet and IP based networks, architectures/designs in a high- paced, dynamic ISP environment.  Design and implement the upgrade of core WAN switches to Cisco 6500-E across geographically dispersed data centers, migrating many connections at each location.  Establish network security via DMZ, VPN, IPSEC, Access-List and Traffic Analysis (NetScout, Wireshark).  Document and maintain PPSM, IP assignments, and network diagrams.  Configure Quality of Service for routers to prioritize network traffic, increasing overall performance.  Use network performance management tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, MAP, Black Status) to analyze and report network traffic and utilization preventing network latency and bottlenecks.  Provide break/fix, upgrades, patching and outage restoration service for network components, routers/switches/NL/FW/IDS/Taclanes.  Configure and maintain F5 LB for mission-critical applications - identity verification, traffic analysis and application LB.  Automate network connectivity for Kubernetes OpenShift clusters.

If this position is performed from Colorado, pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $76,800-$128,300. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Pursuant to Colorado law, the actual compensation paid for this position may be outside of this range.
