Summary: Provides leadership and coordination of IT department teams and project teams; performs advanced, expert level computer application development and support; develops operations solutions by guiding development of program specifications; oversees testing efforts; manages employees; provides expert analysis and design of complex and integrated systems; develops and implements coding standards, testing standards and IT development best practices; provides direction, leadership and oversight of lower level programmers/analysts; works directly with IT applications administration in defining customer priorities and IT quality management practices; acts as an IT technical expert in the business areas that are being supported; instructs, directs and checks the work of other programmer/analysts.

Salary range for this position is $106,068 - $130,270 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

1. Doctorate degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience; or
5. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of eight (8) years of full-time software development experience.  

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years experience in full-stack software development and systems analysis with a focus on enterprise-scale business systems such as ServiceNow and Workday, proficiency in a modern dynamic server-side programming Language such as PHP or Python with an emphasis on building Data-intensive ETL applications, experience with integration of business systems using REST APIs and web services including development of custom API Endpoints, and working knowledge of database design principles and experience With data modeling and schema design using MariaDB/MySQL or other relational databases such as Postgresql. They will also have knowledge of front-end web development, including Knowledge of core technologies such as Javascript, CSS, HTMLAs well as experience in higher-level frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, etc., experience with Git version control software and software development that uses a Git frontend such as Github or Gitlab to manage the software development process, including code review, merge Requests, etc., the ability to write clean, efficient, maintainable, testable code, adhering to coding Standards and best practices. Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in an agile team environment, knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and ability to write code that is reusable and extensible. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, Business stakeholders and end-users and experience interacting with complex, distributed software systems in a production setting, including monitoring, deploying, and debugging.
