Senior Project Controls Analyst
Responsibilities: Support the schedule and cost control efforts for projects in West Texas Support all phases of the project life cycle, while also providing reporting and analysis to drive decision making. Will assist in cost analysis application database maintenance. Ability to facilitate new initiatives related to our cost control and analysis efforts. Creation of Project and Program cost reports, capturing the portfolio for supported Project Managers. Resource for troubleshooting cost issues. Will review monthly exceptions and errors in the SAP->Prism->EPM integration process. Create and manage budgets and monitor spending. Define, create, and maintain project work breakdown and cost breakdown structures, working closely with engineering team. Track and report up-to-date construction project costs, EACs, and variances. Track incurred and forecasted cost vs authorized funding and identify needed supplements, as necessary. Prepare reports to lead monthly accrual and reforecast meetings to update WES management teams and coordinate with accounting teams. Support the preparation of monthly accruals and forecasts for all managed projects. Create and maintain scope change log and ensure scope change process adherence. Utilize detailed project schedules to develop cost time-phased data forecasts. Develop consolidated baseline schedules which support the project execution team. Track construction progress and provide periodic schedule updates to stakeholders. Oversee project construction schedule to highlight any anomalies and providing detailed analysis as required. Maintain highly effective and productive relationship with company Construction team, Land team, Contractor representatives, and producer contacts ensuring that all interested parties are informed and involved in planning activities as appropriate. Create, maintain, and distribute routine bi-weekly and monthly reports associated with all assigned construction project expenses. Prepare detailed ad-hoc reports. Participate in contractor selection process by providing feedback on contractor’s previous performance. Commit and take action to make sure every employee and contractor goes home safe every day. Requirements: Eight to ten (8-10) years or more years of relevant work experience with upstream or midstream capital projects; other industrial construction acceptable. Senior level required. Proficient with project management software applications, Primavera P6 required, Ares Prism and SAP preferred but not required. Oracle or other account software required. Accumen Fuse experience preferred, other “home grown” software experience required. Advanced skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Desire to drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective cost control and scheduling programs. A fundamental knowledge of production, compression, pumping, treating, processing, and produced water disposal facilities and pipeline infrastructure is preferred. Understanding of industry safety principles and their application at a construction location. Ability to prepare work breakdown and cost breakdown structures based on project scope, in conjunction with the Project Manager. Ability to communicate analysis findings and required recovery plan activities to management through concise written reports and clear verbal/visual presentations. Bachelor’s degree required. Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle. Travel will be required up to 25%. Most travel will be to field locations in the Permian Basin in West Texas. Experience in oil and gas, or applicable construction capital projects is required.
