POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Operations Director, the Senior Recovery Coach is responsible for the oversight of the Program in the absence of the Operations Director.  The Senior Recovery Coach is responsible for several key operational aspects of the program including but not limited to the direct supervision of select team members within the PROS program, coordinating admissions, including setting up tours, screenings and developing initial plans of care, and development of new partnerships with potential referral sources such as hospitals and school districts.  The Senior Recovery Coach works intimately within the new Managed Care environment, working to ensure medical necessity is evidenced in team members’ work while ensuring proper authorizations and documentation is provided for individuals in Managed Care Plans. 

 

Responsibilities

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensures high overall compliance and quality of documentation completed by PROS team members by conducting periodic reviews.Completes quarterly group schedule that reflects the needs and suggestions of the program participants.Provides oversight of Managed Care Authorizations; ensures proper documentation is submitted and medical necessity is communicated to plan representatives; develops and maintains positive working relationships with the managed care plan representatives.Supports the program with recertifications, reporting and audits.Provides oversight of all referrals, tours, screenings and admissions to the program.Manages food and program funds.Maintains a case of PROS participants.Assists with the development and growth of the programs via networking internally and externally in conjunction with the development department.Prevents, recognize and reports abuse toward the people we support.Manages personnel by supervising, training, evaluating, and observing assigned team members and interns.Participates in interviewing, hiring, development and retention of high-quality staff.Ensures orientation of new staff, making them thoroughly cognizant of the work expectations of their new position.Establishes positive working relationships with co-workers, management, other departments, affiliated agencies, contactors and vendors and other valued stakeholders.Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Master’s Degree in mental health or a related fieldExperience:At least 2 years’ experience in behavioral health and/or development disability fieldSupervisory experience preferredSpecialized Training, Licenses, Certifications:Mental health licensure preferredTraining will be provided upon hire as neededKnowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite required Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essentialLeadership skillsMust be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skillsOther Requirements:Valid NYS Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for FREE

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in-person. Minor travel might be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours).Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax and filing cabinets.Employee is required to reach with hands and arms.Employee is required to be able to lift and/or move light items occasionally.
