Senior Substation Project EngineerJob Summary

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our San Antonio, Texas office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office).

ResponsibilitiesGrow and manage relationships with local clientsMentor less experienced staff in substation project executionPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingEnsure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal mannerPerform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple officesManage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.Required Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Senior Substation Project Engineer in San Antonio office of our Substation Business UnitBSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power optionProfessional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain within one yearExperience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience in managing five or more people on a project team.Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrentlyStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/Experience10+ years experience in utility substation design is preferredExperience with and established positive relationships with local clientsExperience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design.
