The successful candidate will be involved with both site and office work working on projects globally in both the inshore and offshore environment. The Survey Engineer is primarily responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of survey equipment on survey vessels. As an experienced survey engineer, you will be involved with all aspects of a project to include; survey planning, vessel mobilisation, equipment calibration/verification, survey acquisition, and reporting. Working in small survey teams on complex projects, the survey engineer will be involved in installation, set up and maintenance of the survey and geophysical equipment (such as side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, multi-channel seismic, CPT, Vibrocore and grab sampling) and to assist in troubleshooting of any equipment related issues.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • A commitment to safe work practices and is willing to embrace the EGS QHSE Management System and policies. • The installation, operat ion and maintenance of survey equipment which includes standard PCs and peripheral, GPS positioning equipment, acoustic positioning systems and sonar sensors such as side scan and multibeam echo sounders, geophysical & seismic data acquisition systems. • Sur vey engineers can also be involved in the positioning and data acquisition activities of a survey project. • Projects will vary between simple side scan sonar investigation surveys through to complex platform site investigation surveys. • During an Incident or Near Miss: o Rectify Hazards (if safe and possible to do so). o Administer First Aid (if applicable). o Inform Party Chief/Senior Site Representative/Manager. o Be able to take part in the incident investigation. Practical Skills: • Sound experience in geophysical surveys in support of the offshore oil and gas and submarine cable industry. • Ability to work as part of a team, a good communicator with excellent organi sational skills. Interest in hands on work and willing to learn new skills. • test equipment and techniques . • Experience in soldering, testing and assemb ling electronic systems . • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Minimum Qualifications: • University graduate (S1/D4 or equivalent) • I ndustrial training & experience may be acceptable • Travelling and working on site on vessels will be required inclu ding over weekends and for extended periods 6 + weeks, therefore the ability to work away from home for long periods is essential. • Self - motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment. • Possession of valid Passport is required. • Current medical, BOSIET/FOET certificates , Seamans Book are an advantage.
