The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for the preparation of Not-for-Profit tax returns. The individual will be responsible for researching and applying tax foundational knowledge to identify potential tax issues, participate in the tax planning process, recognize and communicate potential risks and work with tax software applications. The individual will work closely with supervisors, managers and clients regarding tax compliance, planning and review.

Essential Duties Prepare Forms 990, 990-PF and 990-T and provide advice to clients regarding exempt organization and tax return issuesEnsure both that clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standardsAbility to work on multiple clients and deadlines to match internal and client expectations for timely delivery of serviceGather and manipulate audit and client information as needed to prepare returnsIdentify when research is needed; clearly and concisely frame issues to be researched; clearly and concisely report the analysisDevelop and train Staff level team membersWork closely with tax supervisors and managers to satisfy the needs with planning compliance Qualifications BA/BS/MS degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university requiredMST degree preferred3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accountingCPA certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification, including required 150-credit coursework requiredStrong 990, 990-PF and 990-T tax compliance and review experience requiredAble to provide tax planning and advisory services to colleges and universities, public charities, private foundations, healthcare entities, and other types of tax-exempt entitiesKnowledge of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) codes and exempt organization tax mattersKnowledge of tax software, ProSystem fx, Engagement a plusAbility to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilitiesMust be able to work additional hours during busy season, as needed, to meet client deliverables

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 - $115,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
