ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Transportation/Traffic Engineer | Orlando, FL

VHB’s growing Orlando, FL office is seeking a mid-level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and traffic/civil engineers on a variety of public, private-sector and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including real estate development, municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal lands, and aviation.

Responsibilities

Design/planning of transportation engineering projectsWork with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas to develop mobility solutions that consider all users integrating Complete Street concepts within urban and suburban communitiesConduct multi-modal transportation analyses, including traffic, bike/ped, freightPerform planning and concept design of intersection improvements, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridorsPrepare traffic impact, safety analyses, corridor, and intersection improvement studiesConduct and assist with traffic forecasting and traffic operational analysisConduct research, prepare reports, and present findings and results to clientsCreate effective and engaging figures and data visualization to convey concept designs and data analysesSupport the development of proposals, scopes of work, and track project budgetsLead project tasks

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related field8+ years of professional experience in the civil/transportation engineering/planning fields; experience at a consulting firm a plusPE requiredPTOE/RSP a plusExperience with Synchro and HCSExperience with Sidra a plusExperience with Cube/FSUTMS preferredExperience with Microstation a plusExperience with PTV VISSIM/VISUM a plus
