Senior Writer/Editor
 

Overview: IntelliBridge is an award-winning and growing company with an immediate need for a skilled Senior Writer/Editor supporting the US Marshals Service (USMS.) The senior writer/editor will support a seven-person team uniquely positioned in the Office of Strategic Insight, under the Director’s Office. The senior writer/editor must be able to work autonomously and is required to show prior publication experience/written products. The Office of Strategic Insight currently permits telework four days per week with one in-office day per week, chosen by the individual.

Candidates will be required to submit a writing sample prior to an interview. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for production of the agency’s Annual Report, including planning, drafting, editing, and clarifying division and program inputs; expanding or condensing content based on research and program knowledge; and working closely with a graphic designer to plan and incorporate photos, graphics, and metrics as appropriate.Responsible for production of the agency’s five-year Strategic Plan, including working with the customer to plan the approach to develop goals, objectives, and strategies; facilitating working sessions (if appropriate); developing surveys, memos, and email communications; and drafting, editing, and clarifying with staff and agency leadership.Works closely with staff members and division and program-level subject matter experts to research, write, and edit a variety of informational products, including Quarterly Performance Review submissions, budget submissions, Annual Performance reports, Department-level strategic objectives, risk profiles, and more.Reviews work for quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards of style, format, and content. Edits text for grammatical correctness, clarity, tone, appropriate reading level, and consistency with pertinent program objectives and agency publication requirements.Meets with the Director’s Office staff and subject matter experts from other divisions/offices during the development of writing projects to define objectives and audience, make recommendations, and determine the appropriate method for completing the project.Serves as a survey design consultant, providing design recommendations, audience targeting, and other best practices to enterprise customers looking to conduct a survey.Manages individual project details; schedules meetings and consults with the customer to determine overall project scope and the graphic designer and customer to establish timelines.Responsible for making determinations and judgment as to the importance and sensitivity of the material being presented and ensuring appropriate tone and emphasis for effectiveness.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Prior experience with Adobe Acrobat ProPrior experience with basic graphic design concepts, and the ability to interact with graphic designersPrior experience in DOJ, Federal Law Enforcement or Federal Government space

Experience Requirements:

Experience working on published products with print/publication deadlinesMinimum of 4 years experience with writing/editing in a professional settingAdvanced proficiency with MS Office Suite

Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree required.

Location:  Telework 4 days a week, and work 1 day per week in-office located in Crystal City, VA.

Travel: None.

Clearance:  Ability to obtain Public Trust with Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).
