This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. Employees at this designation perform routine technical duties in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of components within building automation systems, sensors, and related controls and computers. This position works under the direct supervision of a higher-level building automation technician.  This position is considered entry level.

Assists in the troubleshooting and repairs of building-automation-system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, transducers and actuators. Assists in performing preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Assists in developing system backups. Assists in working on computers, monitors and network devices as assigned. Performing scheduled and emergency calls as assigned. Perform all above and other tasks following Company and customer safety standards Complete all training opportunities provided. Reports to work on time and ready to perform assigned tasks. Maintains company tools, test equipment and material. Maintain and track inventory on vehicle as assigned. Deliver material as required. Looks for opportunities to keep the project / assignment moving forward or additional business. Complete work order documentation and other site documentation as required.
