Site/Civil Design Engineer – Land Development | Hybrid | Hauppauge, NY
VHB’s Hauppauge, NY office is seeking an experienced Site/Civil Design Engineer to support our growing land development practice.
Responsibilities
Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports and specifications for a multitude of land development projects Civil engineering for residential and commercial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design site, and roadway layoutPreparation and/or reviewing design criteria, drawings and specifications Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentationAssist in the preparation of permitting, design and construction documentsProject task financial performance, and management of small or medium projectsAttending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issuesTechnical and design report writingSkills and Attributes
Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in civil engineeringExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site designAbility to handle multiple concurrent projectsSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailExperience with GIS Systems, MicroStation, AutoCAD and Civil3D preferredQualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or related field of study requiredMaster’s degree a plus3-5 years site/civil design engineering experience required5-8 years of civil engineering experience preferredProficiency in AutoCAD requiredEIT expected (or ability to obtain within 6 months)Professional Engineer (PE) license preferredOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $75,000-107,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
