Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Social Worker I for NJMS- Developmental Pediatrics. The role of the Social Worker I is to conduct intake assessments for the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, support patient and families throughout the evaluation and treatment process, and provide liaison and advocacy support in helping families deal with the team of specialist involved in the child’s care including Early Intervention providers, school systems, therapists, community resources, governmental agencies and other medical specialists

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Acts as family support and liaison to physicians, school child study teams, early interventions programs, therapist, government agencies, and community resource programs with thorough working knowledge of these resources. Responsible for counseling of children and their families in the area of behavioral modification strategies. Documents pertinent patient healthcare data and maintain confidential patient files. Participates in case management process, working within a team approach. Provides grant- specific data collection and analysis including completion of quarterly reports for program, including patient demographic statistics, diagnostic categories, team activities and outcomes.
