We are looking for a geospatial jack of all trades - someone with skills in Python, GIS, GIS software systems, Esri and open source products, and general geospatial tradecraft. You will support an R&D intelligence team that applies cutting edge geospatial technology and tradecraft to help solve our nation's most pressing Intelligence Questions.

Our team is looking to for a Python Developer to support this team

with tool development, automation, process improvement, coding, efficiency, modeling, and general geospatial support. If you are a developer who likes to understand difficult problems, handling big data and engineering time saving solutions, we need your skills!

Day-to-day with your colleagues:

Meeting with the customer to understand and refine the requirementsUsing Python to augment and analyze dataRecommending best practices for data storage and manipulation.Reviewing current practices, identifying process improvements, and implementing them

Minimum Requirements:

Must be US Citizen with TS/SCI with Polygraph5+ years of professional experienceBachelor's degree in computer science, geography or related technical fieldAbility to automate workflows using Python Experience using geospatial methodology and tools (e.g. ArcGIS, ArcPro, QGIS) for intelligence analysis Ability to communicate analysis to experts and lay persons alike

Preferred Skills:

We are looking for a versatile team member who likes to get their hands dirty across a variety of projects. Experience in some of these areas is idea, but you aren't required to have experience in all:

GIS and Raster Processing:Understand the advance principles of GIS analysis and data processingUnderstand raster processing and map algebraWorking knowledge of map projectionsSpatial modelingFamiliarity with ESRI products and/or open source equivalents to include both desktop and server productsUnderstanding of geospatial data formatsKnowledge of modeling tools and statistical analysis toolsSystems:Basic understanding of IT systems such as Linux and WindowsBasic understanding of storage and networking infrastructureKnowledge of databases both in the cloud and on premisesUnderstanding requirements to support security regulation processes and policiesBe able to communicate with IT professionals to solve common problemsWork with staff and IT professionals to troubleshoot problemsSoftware Development:Understanding of Python enough to interface with APIs, databases and applicationsSupport troubleshooting efforts as neededWork with staff to develop workflows to reduce complexity and increased speed of the applicationFluency and source geospatial tools and data such as GDAL, Qgis, OSM, and Geopandas Provide technical leadership as needed to support government requests Support the use of PKI certificate

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$150,000.00 - $251,000.00 annually.
