Job Title: Sonographer Department: Imaging Location: Rochester Regional Health's Vein Treatment Center Hours Per Week: 20hrs/week, with the possibility of Overtime Days of Week: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, No Call, No Weekends Sign-On Bonus: Up to $7,500 SUMMARY: This position is for a sonographer at Rochester Regional Health's Vein Treatment Center, which is a busy outpatient venous treatment center. The ultrasound technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasounds alongside a team of dedicated and experienced sonographers and interventional radiologists with a focus on performing superficial and deep venous mapping of the legs. Additionally, the sonographer will prep and first assist on all venous procedures in the office, including venous ablation, venous glue closure procedures, microphlebectomy, and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. All venous specific study protocols and procedure training will be provided as on-the-job training. The sonographer will perform other vascular studies and non-vascular studies as needed. The primary objective is to obtain high quality images and maximize the efficiency of the Radiologist or Neurologist while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ultrasound Scans - Perform abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance. · Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. · Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. · Documentation - Note performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports in to doctor’s offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist. · Room Preparation - Clean, stock and prepare room daily. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Effective June 1, 2023: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound required for all new hires. · For Radiology sites/affiliates with ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (within 6 months of graduation from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Program (CAAHEP), or within 18 months of graduation from a non-accredited program). If hired prior to September 1, 2022, a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is required by March 1, 2023. · For Neurovascular & Vascular, the RDMS is not required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Prior Sonographer experience preferred. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE: $33.50 - $42.00 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
