We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Project Engineer – Module Design and Fabrication to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading multi-discipline engineering and design teams to execute modular process plant projects, ensuring they meet and exceed customer expectations. Your primary responsibilities will include understanding customer specifications, managing detail engineering design development, coordinating equipment procurement and fabrication processes, and serving as the key client interface for technical project issues.

LOCATION: 
The preferred location for this role is in Des Plaines, IL (Chicago area). Additional locations in Tulsa, OK and Houston, TX can also be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•\tResponsibilities of understanding the customer specification requirements and ensure their integration into the Mechanical Flow Diagram (MFD) and the detail engineering design
•\tManage the development of the detail engineering design 
•\tHold weekly meetings with the discipline engineering team members/ detail designer/ fabricator to address project development status and solve challenging technical requirements and problems
•\tCoordinate equipment procurement activities with the engineering team (modules, vessels, exchanges, rotating, instrumentation, and miscellaneous equipment) 
•\tManage the fabrication process and partner with the fabricator to deliver equipment that exceeds customer’s expectations
•\tSupport the module fabrication process by providing on site support to the resident engineer
•\tManage technical interface with customers, detail designer, fabricator (s), and internal discipline team
•\tCoordinate document submittals to/from Customer, detail design, and Fabricator(s)
•\tResponsible for the assembly and issuance of Manufacturing Data Books 
•\tManaging the project quality plans 
•\tIdentify development steps to improve engineering quality and productivity, minimize detail design and fabrication change orders
•\tProvide sales support for project opportunities being pursued 
•\tDomestic/ International Travel to customer and supplier sites – 20% annually in 1 to 2 weeks’ duration
•\tAccountable for leading multi-discipline engineering and design team to execute modular process plant projects 
•\tShare lessons learned and provide suggestion for infrastructure (UOP specifications and standards, work procedures, etc.) improvement
•\tResponsible for overseeing engineering and design workhour budgets, project workhour forecasts, engineering schedules, and design quantities against budgets  
•\tKey client interface for project technical issues including project design review meetings, 3D Model reviews, constructability reviews, and closeout for modular projects 
•\tAssist project management with quantity tracking and trending, change management, and schedule reviews 
•\tOversee cross functional team in assembling and submitting subcontractor work packages for equipment manufacturing and module fabrication

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics 
•5+ years’ experience in a project engineering or design engineering role focused on mechanical equipment, modulization design of systems utilized in the petroleum refining, petrochemical and/or gas processing industries.

•Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and ability to adjust priorities quickly
•International, multi-cultural experience
•Project engineering experience with an EPC contractor
•Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional Certification 
•Project Controls experience (Cost and/or Schedule)
