Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will handle various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting financial processes integral to the organization. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the accounting and finance industry. Responsibilities • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Reconcile bank statements and investigate variances or irregularities. • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation. • Support month-end close processes by verifying account balances and preparing necessary adjustments. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create detailed reports. • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring proper classification of transactions. • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and address inquiries. • Monitor accounting processes for compliance with policies and regulations. Requirements • Proficient in account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. • Skilled in balance sheet reconciliation to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. • Experienced in performing bank reconciliations to align bank statements with company records. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and maintenance. • Ability to prepare and post journal entries with precision and attention to detail. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Expertise in managing month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
