Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and enhance our financial operations in Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting principles, delivering accurate financial reports, and contributing to the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and improve accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, intercompany, and accounts receivable/payable reconciliations.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights on budget-to-actual performance.
• Manage journal entries and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and accuracy of accounts.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing or supporting the preparation of income, sales, and payroll tax filings.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff at the entry level, reviewing their work to maintain quality and adherence to standards.
• Monitor cash flow and coordinate with financial institutions to manage liquidity and banking relationships.
• Leverage accounting software and tools to automate workflows and improve the accuracy of financial reporting. Requirements • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, including financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reconciling complex accounts.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Strong knowledge of intercompany accounting and balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Skilled in cash flow analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
• Proficiency in using Great Plains or similar accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
