As the Sr. Accountant, you will: + Financial Reporting: Oversee preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. + General Ledger Management: Take ownership of the general ledger, ensuring accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger integrity. + Month-End and Year-End Closings: Lead closing processes, coordinate timelines, and produce comprehensive reports for leadership. + Revenue and Cost Analysis: Analyze freight revenue streams and associated costs to provide insightful recommendations for financial efficiency. + Process Improvement: Identify and implement refinements to accounting processes and systems to ensure scalability and efficiency. + Supervise Team Members: Mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy of their work and providing opportunities for growth and learning. + Audit Collaboration: Prepare and review documents for audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory guidelines. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations and logistics departments to address financial and operational needs. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA designation strongly preferred). + 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role (freight forwarding or logistics industry experience is a significant plus). + Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data management skills required). + Knowledge of GAAP, compliance requirements, and technical accounting principles. + Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights. + Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a knack for mentoring and cross-departmental collaboration.
