Sr. Application Developer-CSS Billing & Finance
CTG is seeking to fill a CSS Billing & Finance Sr. Application Developer opening for our client in Waltham, MA. Location: Remote Duration: 10 months W2 only, No C2C Duties: Lead and support mainframe modernization initiatives with a focus on migrating and optimizing legacy systems. Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies. Work closely with business stakeholders and SMEs to translate legacy functionality into modern architecture while preserving business logic. Provide technical expertise in the Customer/1 and Customer/2 systems with emphasis on Billing and Finance domains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful project delivery. Develop technical documentation and contribute to knowledge transfer activities. Skills: Proficient in COBOL and JCL on mainframe platforms. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with CSS Customer/1 and Customer/2. SME-level knowledge of billing systems and finance domain functionality. Familiarity with legacy system architecture and modernization strategies. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team. Experience: 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development. Significant experience working with utility billing systems (Customer/1 or Customer/2 preferred). Demonstrated success in modernization or migration projects within large enterprises. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
